Aim of the event
The event aims to provide a safe and open space for peer-to-peer exchange on the challenges and opportunities of national biodiversity platforms and networks and the role they can play for enabling multi-stakeholder input to biodiversity-related decision-making. The event will also provide a space for critical reflection on the ability of national biodiversity platforms to give a voice to different knowledge-holders and channel their knowledge and perspectives the decision-making realm.
Objectives of the event
- To hear first-hand from peers on their experiences, desires, and motivations for having national biodiversity platforms and networks that support integration of biodiversity information into decision-making.
- To share ideas on how inclusivity, membership and participation of different stakeholders and knowledge holders can be enhanced in national biodiversity platforms and networks.
- To introduce the “Guidebook on National Biodiversity Platforms: Connecting Nature and People” and exchange information on its practical use.
