IPBES 10 peer-to-peer dialogue: the role of national biodiversity platforms in realising an ambitious future for nature and people

Aim of the event  

The event aims to provide a safe and open space for peer-to-peer exchange on the challenges and opportunities of national biodiversity platforms and networks and the role they can play for enabling multi-stakeholder input to biodiversity-related decision-making. The event will also provide a space for critical reflection on the ability of national biodiversity platforms to give a voice to different knowledge-holders and channel their knowledge and perspectives the decision-making realm.  

Objectives of the event  
  1. To hear first-hand from peers on their experiences, desires, and motivations for having national biodiversity platforms and networks that support integration of biodiversity information into decision-making.  
  1. To share ideas on how inclusivity, membership and participation of different stakeholders and knowledge holders can be enhanced in national biodiversity platforms and networks.  
  1. To introduce the “Guidebook on National Biodiversity Platforms: Connecting Nature and People” and exchange information on its practical use.
