Join us for the global presentation of Cameroon’s national ecosystem assessment, highlighting key findings, reflecting on opportunities and challenges brought by this process, and celebrating its impact in capacity building and support to decision-making.
Cameroon launched its national ecosystem assessment on the 28th of January 2022. The process brought together over 50 authors and stakeholders including government representatives, academia, non-government organisations NGO’s and indigenous peoples and local communities. Cameroon’s assessment process began in September 2017 and focused on synergies between biodiversity conservation, pollination and growth in agricultural sectors. It made links to sustainable energy generation, eco-tourism, and providing opportunities for engagement from the private sector with a focus on promoting sustainable development for Cameroon’s growing economy.
Webinar objectives:
- Provide an overview of Cameroon’s national ecosystem assessment process and findings
- Highlight the achievements and impact of Cameroon’s national ecosystem assessment so far and further opportunities to support decision-making
- Encourage and facilitate participants to share experiences and lessons on national ecosystem assessments
